The 3 rd International Workshop on Far-Infrared Technologies 2010 (March 15-17, 2010, University of Fukui, Fukui, Japan)

The first International Workshops on Far-Infrared Technologies (IW-FIRT) was held in 1999 as a celebration event for establishing Research Center for Development of Far-Infrared Region, University of Fukui(FIR FU), and the second IW-FIRT was held in 2002 as a part of the Fukui University International Congress, which was organized by professor Kojima, the president, to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of our university.
And then, 7 years have passed. During this term, research activities in the far-infrared region including terahertz range have advanced quickly and many important results were obtained. At the moment, it is the most favorable opportunity to summarize a progress of far-infrared technologies. According to such a situation, we have organized the Third International Workshop on Far-Infrared Technologies in 2010 (IW-FIRT 2010). The workshop consists of invited talks and a poster session with the following scope of topics:

1) Development of high power radiation source in far-infrared region,
2) High power terahertz technologies,
3) Terahertz spectroscopy,
4) Magnetic resonance phenomena in the far-infrared region,
5) Material development with high-power FIR sources, and
6) Other subjects.
